Is There Anybody Out There...

Do it for love or not at all.. 

Keep your overhead low and your expectations lower.  The only reward you can ask from writing is the chance to keep doing it.  If you attract the attention of readers or editors, all the better, but that's extra - you can't make other people's attention your goal.  If you do it for love, you have spent your writing time wisely whether anybody reads it or not.
