This song has been covered by everyone from Joe Cocker and the Allman Brothers to Fleetwood Mac. I must give Irma Thomas serious props for taking it up a level and hitting it with a slow blues feel, but Little Willie John has always been my version of choice.

This cat didn't have long to create magic. He died at the age of thirty after being incarcerated for manslaughter. He may have been taken young, but this song will live on in the many artists who cover it still.
